Nov. 26 Yerevan hosts event dedicated to 100th anniversary of Varazdat Harutyunyan
National Library of Armenia will host a memorial evening dedicated to 100th anniversary of architect Varazdat Harutyunyan on November 26. In frames of the event, an exhibition devoted to the life and work of Varazdat Harutyunyan will be unveiled. The "Merit and appraisal" book will be presented to the audience.

 Varazdat Arutyunyan authored 800 scientific papers, 3 manuals and 40 books on Armenian architecture, as well as a three-volume memoirs. He headed the chair of architecture at the Yerevan State Polytechnic Institute (now State Engineering University of Armenia) for 50 years, and chaired the Union of Architects of Armenia for 12 years. Varazdat Harutyunyan was born in 1909 in the city of Van (Turkey), survived the Armenian Genocide. He died in 2008 in Yerevan.
