US ADMINISTRATION SUGGEST INCREASING AID VOLUME TO AZERBAIJAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - The budget issue introduced to the congress by American administration stipulates the increase of the volume of the American aid to Azerbaijan. In 2003 the USA government suggests allotting $46 mln to this country. For this year $43 mln is allotted. At the same time the bill presented by the administration stipulates the reduction of the aid volume for Armenia. It is suggested allotting $ 70 mln to Yerevan, at that, this year it was decided to allot $94 mln. Both Armenia and Azerbaijan will have the same volume of aid for military needs- $ 3 mln each. It should be reminded that Armenian Assembly of America opposed the reduction of the volume of aid for Armenia. As it is known, the White House proposed to reduce the volume of aid to Armenia this year but the lawmakers has approved of the sum outnumbering the one stipulated in the bill. According to Brain Arduni, who has charge of relations with the administration in the Armenian Assembly, "pro-Armenian forces of the congress will do everything possible to prevent the reduction of the volume of the aid to Armenia".
