ARMENIAN GENOCIDE MUSEUM TO BE OPENED IN WASHINGTON APRIL 24
Inaugural ceremony of opening Armenian Genocide museum in Washington will be held April 24, 2002. The building in which it will be situated is two blocks away from the White House. It was bought in February last year and cost 250 thousand USD. The sum was donated by several Armenian philanthropists, including members of the Armenian Assembly of America Anush Matevosian and lifelong trustee of the organization Carry Kafeschian. The total territory of the building halls is over two thousand square meters. Reconstruction works headed by a special commission continue at present. Design of the exposition will be started after repairing is finished.
