ARS, Inc. announces availability of applications for Eremian scholarship awards


The <b>Armenian Relief Society</b>, Inc. announced the availability of applications for its 2010-2011 Eremian Scholarship awards. Both graduate and undergraduate students, who have completed a year of college, are eligible to apply for the scholarship, the organization said in press release.

“Although we are reeling as a result of the financial crisis but we cannot approach scholarships from a purely financial perspective. Supporting education is part of the ARS mission. Based on this belief, the ARS, Inc. Central Executive Board decided to award Eremian Scholarships for the academic year 2010-2011,” said ARS, Inc. Central Executive Board clerk Mayda Melkonian.

Application forms to the Eremian Scholarship, conditions and lists of additional documents can be obtained from local ARS Boards of Directors. Completed applications must also be presented to the executive board of local ARS entities.

“We call upon donors to assist us in sustaining and increasing the ARS Educational Fund. Income from this fund has allowed us to award college and university scholarships since 1955 all over diaspora communities as well as in Armenia,” concluded Mayda Melkonian.
