The European union is for the Karabakh conflict settlement only within the OSCE Minsk group framework. Italy's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Paolo Andrea Trabaltsa has stated this in his interview to "Arminfo" agency. It should be reminded that Italy is the chairing country in the European Union until the end of this year. According to the diplomat, after September 11 the opportunities to cooperate at the international level have occurred. In the light of the new international situation the world community must do everything possible to settle the so-called "frozen conflicts", that are potential threats for the whole world, noted the Ambassador. "The European Union completely supports the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk group for Nagorno-Karabakh and is ready to accept any agreements signed by Armenia and Azerbaijan. We also hope the decision will have been made by the end of next year maximum", has noted Trabaltsa. At the same time the Italian diplomat has added that except the OSCE, other international organizations can only introduce their positions regarding the Karabakh conflict settlement.
