Armenians of Ukraine are thankful to the members of Parliament of Sweden (the Riksdag) for adoption of a resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire, said Ashot Avanesyan, President of the National Congress of Armenians of Ukraine.

“We will always remember your historical decision,” the Congress said in a letter to the Riksdag members, Analitika.at.ua reported.

On March 11, the Swedish parliament passed the resolution on recognition of the genocide of Armenians, Assyrians, Chaldeans and Pontiac Greeks with a vote 131-130.
