"ORINATS YERKIR" PARTY LEADER DID NOT RULE OUT OPPORTUNITY OF BEING ELECTED ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT SPEAKER
"Orinats Yerkir" party leader Arthur Baghdasarian did not rule out the opportunity of being elected the chairman of the newly elected Armenian National Assembly. As he told journalists today at the ceremony of handing the deputy mandates, this issue will be settled tomorrow at the first sitting of the newly elected parliament. In A. Baghdasarian's words, the representatives of three parties who signed the memorandum on political consent will form the leadership of the parliament. So, vice-chairman of the Republican Party Tigran Torosian and one of the leaders of "Dashnaktsutyun" Armenian Revolutionary Federation Vahan Hovhannisian will hold the posts of the vice-speakers. A. Baghdasarian also informed that out of the six permanent parliamentary commissions "Orinats Yerkir" would receive the posts of the chairmen of the commissions on issues of defense, internal affairs and national security as well of the commissions on health, ecology and social issues. RPA will hold the posts of the chairmen of two commissions these being commissions on issues of science, education, culture, youth and sports as well as financial-credit, budget and economic ones. The representative of the supreme body of the "Dashnaktsutyun" Armenian Revolutionary Federation will accept the post of the chairman of the commission on external links.
