Armenian Genocide resolution may be discussed during U.S. Congress fall sessionApril 19, 2010 - 17:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary group Vahan Hovhannisyan said that the Armenian Genocide resolution, H.Res 252 may be debated during the U.S. Congress fall session. “The discussion terms depend on numerous technical issues, for example, on congressmen’s mood and interest, on several states, which have basic military and industrial complexes, on military contracts with Turkey, as well as on the impact of Turkey’s support to Iran on the U.S. administration positions,” Mr. Hovhannisyan told a press conference in Yerevan. “There are some factors, which cannot be analyzed entirely. Hopefully, it will be done until autumn, but I cannot be absolutely confident of it,” he said. The Armenian Genocide resolution The resolution affirming the U.S. record on the Armenian Genocide (H.Res.252) was formally introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives by Reps. Adam Schiff (D.-CA), George Radanovich (R.-CA), Frank Pallone, Jr. (D.-NJ), and Mark Kirk (R.-Ill). On March 4, 2010 it was adopted with a 22-21 vote by the House Committee on Foreign Relations.
