Wide range economic reforms have been held in Armenia. As reported by "Mediamax" agency, Carnegie Fund leading specialist and well-known economist Anders Oslund stated. "However when the factors threatening the security of this country are not neutralized yet, the results certainly cannot be very impressive", - the economist added. In his opinion, among the South Caucasian countries Georgia appeared beyond comparison being "exhausted by the civil war and the most corrupt country of the region". As to Azerbaijan, in Anders Oslund's words, "this country held far less reforms than Georgia and Armenia". Nevertheless, he emphasized that Azerbaijan had received the greatest amount of direct investments as compared to the other states of the region. "During certain years foreign investments to Azerbaijan comprised 25% of its Gross Domestic Product. It shows that foreign investors pay little attention to the corruption prospering in Azerbaijan and to the absence of democracy that is not even thought about there. There is a despot there who makes decisions personally and there is also oil. I will be rather surprised if foreign investors get their money back", - Carnegie Fund leading specialist stated.
