Armenian boxers participate in World Youth Boxing Championship in Baku

PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 26, the World Youth Boxing Championship kicked off in Baku. Six Armenian boxers with Chief Coach Derenik Voskanyan left for Baku: Koryun Soghomonyan (w/c 48kg), Narek Abgaryan (w/c 51kg), Arthur Kirajyan (w/c 54kg), Karen Tonakanyan (w/c 57kg), Hrayr Matevosyan (w/c 60kg) and Hovhannes Bachkov (w/c 64kg.)

Karen Tonakanyan (w/c 57kg) entered the competition the first day and lost to Henry Thomas (England) during the third round.

On April 26, Hovhannes Bachkov (w/c 64kg) and winner of world youth championship Koryun Soghomonyan (w/c 48kg) will start competing.

It should be noted that the sportsmen taking the first four places will have the right to participate in Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
