UN Office in Armenia hosts students’ art exhibition to commemorate Word War II victims

Students’ art exhibition dedicated to Time Remembrance and Reconciliation for Those Who Lost their lives during the World War II organized jointly by the UN Office in Armenia and Yerevan State Academy of Arts was opened today, May 10.

Over 60 works of art, including graphics, paintings, batiks, ceramics and statues were displayed at UN house, attracting the attention of students, professors, international community, civil society groups, media and general public.

As UN Resident Coordinator Dafina Gercheva stated, “These talented and bright pieces of art highlight how young generation understands the essence of maintaining peace throughout the world and pays tribute to all those who lost their lives during that terrible war. We are pleased to host this exhibition; as always, we are ready to provide more opportunities for youth.”

Joint initiative of UN Resident Coordinator Dafina Gercheva and YSU Rector Aram Isabekyan aims to promote UN values by helping young artists of Armenia The project is also supported by the UN Department of Public Information in Yerevan.
