AUTHORS OF LEGEND ABOUT COUNTLESS OIL STOCK COME TO GRIEF
"Ramco" British-American Company can validate its withdrawal from the contract for working of the largest oilfields in Azerbaijan in November. One of the heads of the department of foreign investments of Azerbaijani State Oil Company Beglyarbekov has stated it today. The company illusions regarding the perspectives of oil production in Azerbaijan has begun to dispel since summer. As CNA agency informs, July 1998 "Ramco" leadership promised to invest about $1 billion in the exploration and working of "Muradkhanli' bloc. But 2001, July, the British-American company rejected the project realization and paid $250 thousand compensation for non-fulfillment of its duties. In spite of the fact that the first oil well displayed certain oil stock, the complex geology of the oilfield layers did not let continue the started works. It is assumed that in November, when the term of the exploring period will expire officially, "Ramco" will also stop its activities in other three contract oilfields.
