US Secretary of State Colin Powell has sent a letter to the Congress calling upon to repeal Freedom Support Act Section 907 adopted in 1992, that restricts the administration aid to Azerbaijan until it lifts the blockade against Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. As Armenian Assembly of America informs with the reference to «Voice of America», in the letter is stated that «the Caucasian nation would be rewarded for its participation in the anti-terrorism coalition by repeal of 907 Section». According to Powell, the sanction lifting will help Azerbaijan to fight terrorist activity within its own territory. So the US Secretary of State has indirectly admitted that the terrorism threat comes from Azerbaijan nowadays.
