AMERICAN TURKS JOINED THE FIGHT FOR SECTION 907 REPEAL
The Assembly of Turkish-American Association has called on all members of the organization and "simply friends" to send letters to U.S. Senate to support the bill proposed by Senator Sam Brownback. As it is known, Sam Brownback has come out with an initiative to provide the U.S. President with the right to repeal Section 907 passed by the Congress in 1992 and banning the Administration to render direct economic aid to Azerbaijan until it raises the blockade of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. There is a form placed on the official site of the Assembly, which is suggested to fill and send via e-mail to the members of the American Congress. The ready text of the letter says in case of abrogation of sanctions "Azerbaijan can give the U.S.A. and its allies both air and overland corridors." Meanwhile the official Baku is trying to convince the world it does not condition assistance to the United States in implementing the antiterrorist operation in Afghanistan by repeal of Section 907 by Washington.
