On June 29, Yerevan hosted a solemn ceremony, during which Dr. Craig R. Barrett, retired CEO/Chairman of the Board of Intel Corp., was titled Honorable Doctor of the Engineering University of Armenia.

Dr. Barrett also met with scientists, teaching staff and students of the University.

Besides, he is expected to meet with Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan.

On June 28, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan honored Dr. Craig R. Barrett with 2009 Global Award of the President of the Republic of Armenia for Outstanding Contribution to Humanity through IT. The award established at the initiative of Synopsys Armenia will be annually honoring a laureate who has made extraordinary contributions to humanity through advancing the world of IT.
