Arman Melikyan: more vigilance needed at contact line![]() July 2, 2010 - 15:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arstakh Republic Arman Melikyan has warned that the Armenian side should be more cautious and vigilant at the contact line with the Azeri armed forces, otherwise Azerbaijan will intensify its attacks, which aim to exert psychological pressure on the one hand and to blackmail the international community, on the other. “In this context, NKR should also be more active to enter the negotiation process. The republic has already signaled such intention, with NKR President’s spokesman David Babayan saying that the ‘philosophy of talks’ should be changed,” he said. As to the June 18 incident in Chaylu, Melikyan said the NKR Defense Ministry bears some guilt but there is a mitigating circumstance, as the subversive group was trained for the attack.
