Armenia, Poland create contractual and legal field to boost bilateral cooperationJuly 13, 2010 - 18:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan is hosting the first sitting of the Armenian-Polish Intergovernmental Commission. The sitting’s final protocol was signed by Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Mushegh Tumasyan and his Polish counterpart, Co-Chairman of the Commission Marcin Korolec. Tumasyan said that cooperation within the EU will also contribute to the development of economic ties between Armenia and Poland. He added that the Commission’s sitting and Armenian-Polish business forum are held at a high level. Tumasyan said that a contractual and legal field will be established as part of the Commission’s first sitting to boost bilateral cooperation. The Deputy Minister noted that all fields of cooperation were discussed during the sitting – energy, construction industry, production of construction materials, healthcare, etc. Besides, Polish companies negotiate with Nairit Plant. In addition, Tumasyan said that the parties agree that the available opportunities of the two countries are used incompletely. According to him, the trade turnover between Poland and Armenia totaled $30mln in 2009, while the decrease in its volumes is conditioned by the global crisis. For his part, Marcin Korolec said that all the required mechanisms are created to boost bilateral economic and political cooperation: businessmen of the two countries work effectively within the framework of the business forum. Besides, Korolec noted that a meeting of the two countries Foreign Ministers is scheduled for July 14.
