Yeghishe Tanashyan: belated tourism policy won’t preserve Tsakhkadzor’s reputation as tourist center

Even belated implementation of tourism policy won’t be able to preserve Tsakhkadzor’s reputation as tourist center, according to deputy head of Armenian Travel Agencies Union Yeghishe Tanashyan.

At news conference in Yerevan, he cited incorrect price policy as the reason behind tourism recession in Tsakhkadzor.

He emphasized the necessity of governmental support in the development of tourism in Armenia. “Tatev and Jermuk programs will promote the development of tourism, however, fulfilling only 15% of Armenian tourism potential,” deputy head of Armenian Travel Agencies Union stated.

Yeghishe Tanashyan suggested development of alternative types of tourism (extreme tourism) and price decrease for air tickets as the means to boost tourist inflow in Armenia.
