Statement of Heads of Delegation of OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries in Almaty is addressed to AzerbaijanJuly 26, 2010 - 15:33 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Vice-Chairman of the RA National Assembly Samvel Nikoyan said that the statement of the Heads of Delegation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries indicates that the superpowers see the Karabakh conflict resolution within three principles of the Helsinki Final Act: the people’s right to self-determination, non-use of force and territorial integrity. It is important that the statement reads that the aforementioned principles do not predominate one over another and do not contradict each other, Nikoyan told a press conference in Yerevan. “It was addressed to Azerbaijan, as this country’s leadership sees the Karabakh conflict resolution only within territorial integrity,” the RA NA Vice-Chairman noted. Nikoyan also pointed to another important detail of the statement. Specifically, the primary responsibility to put an end to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict still remains with Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders. “Meanwhile, referring to the Armenian leaders, the mediators mean not only Armenia’s President, but also the leader of NKR,” said Nikoyan, adding that the statement contributes to the stance that Karabakh should also be involved in the talks. Nikoyan also noted that after the meeting in Almaty the Azerbaijani propagandistic machinery has been keeping silence.
