Bako Sahakyan: energy is among strategic directions of NKR’s development

From July 24 to 25, President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan was on a working visit to Mardakert and Shahumyan regions of the republic.

In Mardakert region Bako Sahakyan visited hydropower stations of Madaghis, Sarsang, Trghe-1 and Trghe-2, which is currently under construction, to inspect the works carried out there.

A consultation on development of the republic's energy sphere was held at the field headquarter located near Haterk village. Head of the Department of Industrial Infrastructures of the NKR government Karlen Petrosyan and CEO of Artsakh-HEK company Vahram Beglaryan delivered reports.

The President stressed the importance of the energy sphere, considering it among strategic directions of the country’s development.

Later the same day, the President visited the northern part of the Karabakh-Azerbaijan borderline.

The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Artsakh stressed the importance of the northern segment in protecting the country’s borders and underlined that the authorities will continue doing their best for maintaining the efficiency of the army. The leader of NKR handed over valuable gifts to a number of officers and soldiers.

On July 25, President Bako Sahakyan visited Shahumyan region and inspected construction works carried out in Karvachar regional center.

Bako Sahakyan noted that it is necessary to develop a new program on residential construction in Karvachar regional center, which will serve as a positive impetus for its development.

Later the same day,Bako Sahakyan met with representatives of Tsar village’s community, after which visited the Republican livestock station located there. The President noted that the development of Shahumyan region is of strategic importance.

Bako Sahakyan stressed the importance of agriculture, specifically of animal husbandry, taking into consideration the great opportunities of the region in this sphere.

NKR Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan and other officials accompanied the President during the visits.
