Lala Mnatsakanyan: actors suffer as result of ignorant work of directors and script writers

PanARMENIAN.Net - Director Anna Hekekyan said that serials are a good opportunity for talented actors to become popular. Talented actors may perform in theater for many years, but not be popular, Hekekyan told a press conference on August 9.

“Besides, salaries are too low in theaters, while serials are a good opportunity to earn money. And if an actor wants to perform in theater, he needs to act in serials,” added Hekekyan. However, according to the director, serials do not allow actors to reveal their talent.

“You know that Lala Mnatsakanyan acts in serials. But you do not know another Lala, who is presenting her solo performance, which was awarded an international prize. During the performance, you will reveal actress Lala Mnatsakanyan,” noted Hekekyan.

In her turn, Honored Actress of Armenia Lala Mnatsakanyan noted that in serials each actor aspires towards demand, what is natural. Meanwhile, these serials are financed by people, whose taste is enough only for gangland-style shoot-outs, jargon and violence, and all this is attributed to audience’s demands. She added that, actors suffer as a result of ignorant work of directors and script writers, since all negative opinions related to serials are expressed to actors.

“However, sometimes the audience does not want to watch low-quality serials and expresses its indignation with respect to it. The audience’s protest and discussion of serials quality in media is the only efficient method to solve the problem. Thus, it is necessary to attach importance to this issue,” noted Professor of Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema Lala Mnatsakanyan.
