PanARMENIAN.Net - Beginning on September 1 payment by minute for city telephone calls is put into operation in Armenia. As reported by "Arka" agency, payment by minute applies to all telephones, connected to digital telephone stations in Yerevan, Stepanavan and Gumri. Works to instal new digital stations are held in Yerevan, Vanadzor, Spitak, Yeghegnadzor, Echmiadzin, Ashtarak. The works are expected to be completed towards this year's end. At the initial stage the tariff will make 4 drams per minute. Its further increase will be implemented step-by-step. At the same time 120 minutes free talk per month will be given to private users.

Let us note that September 1 was tentatively fixed "ArmenTel" shareholders meeting. But due to executive director of the company Nikos Georgulas's absence from Yerevan, who at present holds negotiations with "OTE" Greek Telecommunication Company, which is holder of 90% shares of "ArmenTel", the meeting did not take place. Nikos Georgulas's arrival to Yerevan is expected tomorrow.

Let us remind that Minister of Transport and Communication of Armenia Andranik Manukian had addressed an official message to "ArmenTel" Company leadership demanding not to introduce telephone calls payment by minute in Armenia beginning with September 1. The statement notes that "ArmenTel" has violated the terms of governmental license N60 and the Law on Language.
