IFC to expand activity in Armenia

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with Vice President and CEO of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Mr. Lars Thunell.

President Sargsyan hailed the IFC's expanded activity in the country and the willingness to help Armenia develop promising sectors of economy with assistance of international experts, the presidential press service reported.

The Armenian President stressed the importance of IFC's consultative services, specifically, in banking, energy and mining fields, as well as for formation of a business environment and facilitation of administration system. He noted that international investments in certain business programs will be extremely useful.

Referring to expansion of the IFC's activity and implementation of forthcoming programs, Mr. Thunell said, for his part, that their results will be observable in the near future.
