BAKU IS NOT SATISFIED WITH POPE OF ROME
Baku misapprehends Pope's visit to Armenia planned in September. Foreign minister of Azerbaijan Vilayat Guliev, who received the credentials from the Vatican representative for South Caucasus has stated that. As Caucasus News Agency has found out from Baku's diplomatic sources, at this meeting the foreign minister stated "Azerbaijan needs attention, moral support and charity of Pope more than Armenia", taking into consideration the existence of refugees from the regions, controlled by the Army of Nagorno Karabakh.
The archbishop Zurbriggen in his turn assured the foreign minister of Arzerbaijan that after his visit to Armenia, Pope would visit Baku necessarily. The visit of Pope to Azerbaijan might take place in the spring, 2002.
