Armen Yeritsyan: Armenia has always been eyed as laboratory of disasters

Armenia 2010 is an extremely important exercise held for the first time in our country, RA Minister of Emergency Situations said.

“The most important factor is exchange of experience. 16 out 29 participating countries are members of the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group. Armenia should also take part in exercises of the kind to show professionalism of its rescuers and join the INSARAG,” Armen Yeritsyan said.

“Armenia has always been eyed as laboratory of disasters. We have all but tsunami,” he added.

Asked whether there can be any difficulties with the arrival of Turkish rescuers, Minister Yeritsyan said that 6 Turkish participants have already arrived and 4 are expected one of these days.

He also emphasized that Azerbaijani rescuers were invited but decided not to come.
