Frantisek Miklosko reminds Europe about cultural genocide in Julfa

Armenia’s reaction to current Azerbaijani and Turkish policy should be viewed in the light of tragic events the nation witnessed, member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Frantisek Miklosko stated.

“In the beginning of 20th century the Armenian nation fell victim to genocide, yet was saved from complete extermination,” Miklosko said at XX Economic Forum in Krynica.

“In 2005, Azeri soldiers destroyed the landmarks of Armenian culture on the territory of historic Nakhijevan,” he pointed out, citing an example of cultural genocide.

“The people of Artsakh always sensed the threat of physical and cultural extermination,” Miklosko stressed, urging the EU to assist Karabakh, the Forum of Armenian Associations of Europe reported.
