36 CONGRESSMEN HAS ADDRESSED THE PRESIDENT OF USA WITH AN APPEAL TO CONSTRUCT BAKU- JEYKHAN OIL PIPELINE THROUGH THE TERRITORY OF ARMENIA
Congressman-republican Joseph Crowley on behalf of his 36 colleagues has sent his letter to President of USA George Bush with an appeal to construct Baku-Jeikhan oil pipeline through the territory of Armenia. As "Mediamax" has been informed in Crowley's Washington office, it is stated in the letter that the optimal way of oil transportation is the way through the Armenian territory and it will let economize $600 million. Besides that, Crowley points out that the involvement of Armenia in this project will further the regional cooperation and integration process. "The USA have to state the necessity of Armenia's involvement in regional and transregional projects. Washington does not have to agree with Azerbaijan's claims to isolate Armenia from all trade corridors and energetic ways", has stated Joseph Crowley. Congressmen Joe Collenberg, Frank Pollen, Joseph Crowley and Joe Swiny stated at the beginning of June that they intended to address the President of USA and express their concern regarding the fact, that money of American taxpayers could be used to finance projects of Caspian oil extraction, that would exclude participation of Armenia.
