The competition held September 8-9 in Dublin, featured 48 typefaces of 21 designers from 12 countries: Armenia (12), Ecuador (2), Germany (14), Greece (6), Ireland (1), Italy (1), Netherlands (1), Mexico (2), Russia (2), Serbia (1), UK (4), USA (2). By holding the competition, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and the Typographic Society Munich intended to enhance the importance of Eastern script systems, beginning with three main fonts: Armenian, Cyrillic, and Greek.
