0.2% drop recorded at Armenia’s consumer market in September 2010

The RA National Statistical Service reported that 0.2% deflation was recorded in consumer market of Armenia in September as compared with August 2010.

The deflation is basically reasoned by 0.9% drop in prices for foodstuff (including alcoholic beverages and cigarettes), The prices for non-foods increased by 0.3%. Besides, 0.7% growth was registered in services tariffs during the reporting period.

The index of consumer prices made 108.6% in September 2010 as compared with the same period in 2009, also for foodstuff (including alcoholic beverages and cigarettes) - 111.6%, non-foods - 106.1%, services - 105.2%; while the index of consumer prices in January-September 2010 made 107,8%, 107%, 111,1% and 107,5% respectively as compared with the same period in 2009.
