During its September 30 field sitting in Ijevan (Tavush region), the Armenian government approved the 2011 draft state budget.

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan noted that Armenia has overcome the crisis. He added that the measures undertaken by the government will be aimed at securing economy’s sustainable growth.

“It will allow reaching the pre-crisis high rates of growth within a short period,” he said.

The draft state budget for 2011 envisages incomes and expenditures at the amount of AMD 850bln and AMD 998.6bln respectively, with deficit to total AMD 148.6bln.

According to PM Sargsyan, the draft budget has been thoroughly discussed in various instances and it is in compliance with the government’s economic policy.

Moreover, the results of discussions were debated with participation of President Serzh Sargsyan.

“Expenditures envisaged under the draft state budget were increased by AMD 10bln. Now, everything depends on summarization of the results of 2010,” Sargsyan said, adding that 2011 will be a year of strenuous work.
