Cooperation between cities of Armenia and France supplements interstate dialogue

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said that the cooperation between cities of Armenia and France is very important, as it supplements and makes a part of the interstate dialogue in various fields.

“The number of the two countries’ twin cities has already reached 30. Initially, the French self-government bodies basically focused on implementation of humanitarian programs, but recently the cooperation programs involved other fields as well,” Nalbandian said during the opening of the second Armenian-French forum of decentralized cooperation.

According to him, around 50 programs are implemented annually in the fields of education, culture, tourism and economy in the format of the Armenian-French decentralized cooperation.

Yerevan is hosting the forum on October 7-8. A French delegation of 130 people led by Chairman of the French committee on organization of the Armenian-French forum of decentralized cooperation Hubert Julien-Laferriere arrived in Yerevan to participate in the forum.
