RUSSIAN ECOLOGISTS ARE AGAINST THE RUSSIAN-TURKEY GAS PIPELINE CONSTRUCTING ON THE BLACK SEA GROUND
. The Russian ecologists express their protest because of the using of Gelengik resort territory for the Russian-Turkish gas pipeline constructing according the "Blue stream" project, implemented by the "Gasprom" concern. As the agency CNA informs the pipeline is planned to be constructed through the territory where unique trees included in the Red Book, grow. The public ecology organizations have brought up the question of the rude violations of the law during the gas pipeline constructing. In the region of the Gelengik resort zone it is decided to construct not only the pipeline but also the compressor plant and other pipeline infrastructures. What is more, besides the resort sanitary zone on the pipeline route there is also the national park "Arkhipo-Osipovski pine forest" with reserve regime.
Earlier experts predicted that many people who would be against the Russia-Turkey pipeline constructing on the Black Sea ground would necessarily use the ecology factor. As it is known, the overland route through Georgia and Armenia territories would be not only safer but also economically sound. But the Russian "Gazprom" gave in to the Turkish side insisting on that the gas transit through the Armenian territory was impermissible.
