Parliamentary coalition suggests Heritage postpone bill on recognition of NKR independence

At October 27 parliamentary discussion, the head of Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group Galust Sahakyan suggested that Heritage postpone voting for the bill on recognition of NKR independence until trilateral presidential meeting in Astana, retaining the issue on Armenian National Assembly agenda.

“We repeatedly stressed that parliament’s adoption of the bill will make the country’s leadership, represented by the Armenian President, responsible for the decision. The President, however, characterized the step as premature. If adopted, the draft law will become grounds for speculation to Armenia’s rivals,” Sahakyan told a news conference in Armenia.

“Should the opposition disagree to postpone the voting for 2 months, the initiative will be rejected.” he stressed.
