Armenia’s youth team tops standings at World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad

Armenia’s youth team celebrated victory in the first three rounds of the World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad held in Burdur, Turkey, from November 26 to December 5.

Specifically, the Armenian team defeated Turkmenistan 4:0, Portugal 4:0 and Russia 3:1.

After the third round, Armenia tops the standings with 11 points. In the fourth round, Armenia will rival Belarus, which is the second with 9 points.

Armenia is represented by Karen Grigoryan, Robert Aghasaryan, Hovhannes Gabuzyan, David Shahinyan and Tigran Petrosyan.
