RA government struggles against drug addicts

Taking into consideration the growth in the number of drug addicts, the Armenian government adopted a decision on adding a range of medicines, from which narcotics can be made domiciliary, onto the list of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

Armenian Healthcare Minister Harutyun Kushkyan said during a governmental sitting that the decision will allow regulating their circulation.

According to him, tianeptine, tropicamide, pregabalin and sedalgin are among these medicines.

Moreover, the RA government introduced amendments to the RA Law on Administrative Violations, under which the punishment of persons, who release medicines without a relevant prescription, is toughened.
