Armenian peacekeepers to stay in Afghanistan for another year

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said that the term of Armenian peacekeepers’ presence in Afghanistan will be prolonged for another year.

Besides, Armenia intends to increase the number of its peacekeepers from 40 to 45 servicemen, Ohanyan said in the Armenian parliament.

The Armenian contingent of peacekeepers is a part of German units within the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF). The main mission of Armenian peacekeepers in is to ensure security in the Airport of Kunduz.
