Director Arik Manukyan and producer Ashot Poghosyan issued a statement on deliberate misinformation spread by the Azerbaijani media regarding the “Interrupted Song” film being shot in Moscow, Russia.

“The film features a psychological drama of two men, an Armenian and Azerbaijani, who find themselves in a pit. Both hate each other, but several hours later they start a conversation on the matters they are concerned about. “Interrupted Song” is a healthy debate, a rare dialogue between the two nations,” the statement says. “Against this background, the reaction of some Azerbaijani media, which launched unprecedented campaign against the film looks odd. This is why we intend to sue two new agencies, namely 1news.az and vesti.az, which serve as the primary source of misinformation for the other media.”

“The hysteria of the Azerbaijani side has one reason: the film is being shot by Armenians,” the statement says.
