Guillaume Delorme: I never told a Turkish newspaper that there was no Armenian Genocide

Turkish media again spread lies about the Armenian Genocide, this time distorting the interview with a French actor.

On December 19, 2010, Guillaume Delorme gave an interview to Hurriyet daily, where he said that he was chosen to act as a young Armenian in a Turkish director’s film. Then, the journalist asks about Delorme’s opinion about the Armenian-Turkish relations, to which the actor allegedly replied that “the adoption of the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide by the French parliament is inadmissible.” Hurriyet also quoted Delorme as if saying that there was no Armenian Genocide.

Freelance French journalist Jean Eckian doubted the report and contacted Delorme to find out the details. “I never told the Turkish newspaper anything of the kind. I went to school in Marseille and I had many Armenian friends there. I do know that there was Genocide,” the actor said.
