ARMENIA TO BE ELECTED CHAIR OF COUNCIL OF COLLECTIVE SECURITY
YEREVAN, May 23. /Mediamax/. Armenia will be elected the chair of the Council of Collective Security (CCS) at the coming May 24-25th Yerevan session of the Collective Security Agreement (CSA) member-states, CCS Secretary General Valerie Nikolayenko said today at a briefing in Yerevan.
According to him, CCS leadership is passed to CSA member-states on rotation principle in the alphabetic order. The posts of the chairmen of the Councils of heads of foreign affairs and defense departments of CCS will also be appointed at the Yerevan summit.
Speaking about the agenda of the summit, Nikolayenko especially noted the plans on formation of Rapid Deployment Force for Central Asia. Presidents of CSA member-states will sign also a protocol on the order of formation, functioning and interaction of regional forces of collective security in 3 directions: European, Caucasian and Central-Asian. --0--
