Berlin’s 61st International Film Festival to open with “True Grit”February 11, 2011 - 15:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Berlin’s 61st International Film Festival is rolling out the red carpet from February 10 to 20 to show around 400 films from almost 60 countries, including Armenia. They include new forms of film, such as Wim Wenders’ 3D tribute to the choreographer Pina Bausch. The opening film promises a glamorous Hollywood atmosphere: the US Western with ten Oscar nominations, “True Grit,” by Ethan and Joel Coen with Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges in the leading role. There are 16 entries, including 13 world premieres, in the official Berlinale competition for the Golden Bear for best film and the Silver Bears in additional categories. The majority of productions come from Europe, Latin America and the USA, according to Germany info.
