Expert: Mubarak’s resignation beginning of new era for Arab world

PanARMENIAN.Net - The resignation of Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak is the beginning of a new era for Arab world, a Russian expert said.

“For Egypt, it’s a preparation for change of power. Three political forces – the military, various liberal democratic movements and the Muslim Brotherhood –pretend to the highest posts. The most likely outcome will be formation of a coalition by ElBaradei’s supporters and the military,” senior fellow at Saint Petersburg State University Alexander Sotnichenko told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

“After the presidential and parliamentary elections, the intelligence service will be ruling while ElBaradei will be negotiating investments, food programs and human rights issues,” he said.

Sotnichenko also noted that the Muslim Brotherhood stands a good chance to come to power in the future.
