Armenian students invited to participate in Imagine Cup programming competition

Microsoft Innovation Center, Microsoft Office in Armenia and Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) announced Imagine Cup programming competition for students.

The theme for Imagine Cup 2011 is: “Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems facing us today,” addressing the UN Millennium Development Goals (poverty eradication, combating diseases, environmental sustainability, gender issues, etc.).

Eligibility requirements are as follows: teams must consist of up to 4 members, at least 3 of which are students, all team members must be 16 years of age or older, all team members must be citizens of the Republic of Armenia, at least one of the team members must have a fluent knowledge of English, and completed applications should be submitted in Armenian and English until April 25.

Teams submitting best programming solutions and packages will receive presents and significant monetary prizes: 1st place - 300.000 AMD + computer, 2nd place - 250.000 AMD + computer, 3rd place - 150.000 AMD + computer.

The winning team will have a chance to participate in the international Imagine Cup competition which will take place in New York City, USA, in summer 2011, EIF reported.

The competition is aimed at helping IT students to identify new approaches in IT, and to develop new programming solutions and/or packages. Applicants will be offered individual consultations and trainings to enhance their presentation skills.
