Azeri authorities’ anti-Iranian hysteria caused by fear of Islamic revolution

PanARMENIAN.Net - Anti-Iranian hysteria, started by Azeri authorities, is caused by a fear in the face of Islamic revolution in Azerbaijan, according to deputy director of Noravank foundation.

As Sevak Sarukhanyan told a news conference in Yerevan, “recent events in Egypt and Tunisia made Aliyev clan apprehensive about the possibility of riots in Azerbaijan. Baku’s resentment is triggered by Iran’s support for Islamists, with Armenia-Iran cooperation used as a mere pretext.”

“Despite some common interests, Iran and Turkey will never become strategic allies, nor will intensified Iran-Turkey cooperation influence their policy towards Armenia,” the expert concluded.
