A park in Valence to be named after Charles Aznavour

A park in Valence, France, will be named after world-known singer, Armenian ambassador to Switzerland Charles Aznavour.

According to Nouvelles d`Arménie, Mayor Alain Maurice sent a letter to Aznavour, requesting his official consent. The park of 420sq.m is located in front of the Center of Armenian Heritage, in a historical Armenian district of the city, which witnessed arrival of hundreds of the Armenian Genocide survivors early in 1920-s.

Alain Maurice offered Aznavour to decide on the date of the park opening ceremony so that he is able to participate in it. The park redevelopment works will be completed early in spring.
