U.S. Deputy Secretary of State stresses durability of U.S.-Armenia relations

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg, who is accompanied during his visit to Armenia by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Gordon.

The Armenian leader stressed the importance of the U.S. high-ranking officials’ visit to Yerevan from the point of view of boosting the Armenian-American relations.

The U.S. Deputy Secretary of State noted for his part that this is his third visit to Armenia. “Your meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Munich, last year’s meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama in Washington, as well as my visit prove the durability of the Armenian-American relations,” said Steinberg.

The parties also referred to problems of regional security and the Karabakh conflict settlement, the RA presidential press service reported.
