Armenia’s Elina Danielyan who is leading the FIDE Grand Prix series in Qatar, said that she unfortunately stands no chance to win the Grand Prix overall tournament.

“Anyway, the ongoing tournament fills me with positive emotions and a possibility to seek awards,” Danielyan said in an interview with the tournament’s website.

“I have not participated in serious competitions since last year. I just took part in an international tournament in Italy, the friendly atmosphere of which helped me gain strength for Doha,” she said.
