Russian expert: Azerbaijan won’t dare resume hostilities in Karabakh

During 2011, preservation of the status quo will be the main goal of Karabakh talks, according to the director of the Institute of Political and Social Studies of the Black Sea-Caspian region.

As Vladimir Zakharov stated during Yerevan-Moscow TV spacebridge, Azerbaijani side will not dare resume hostilities in Karabakh conflict zone, as every action of Baku will be perceived by the world as aggression.

“Azerbaijan does not wish to impress the world as an aggressor. As the history shows, any aggressor can aggravate its relations with other states,” the Russian expert noted, adding, “Azerbaijan understands that and won’t resort to a military solution.”

Still, as the expert remarked, Azerbaijan will continue its military rhetoric.
