German radio station SWR2 aired a program on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict on March 1, in which the stances of Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan on the conflict were presented.

The German radio station quoted a soldier of the NKR Defense Army as saying that protection of Motherland is a sacred duty.

“In my opinion, the conflict is over, but Azerbaijan does not conceive it. The peoples of Artsakh and Armenia struggled for the opportunity to live in peace. I also participated in the struggle, we will not give up,” an officer of the NKR Defense Army said.

“Sooner or later Azerbaijanis will be have to invite us to negotiations, as we are the most important party to the conflict, and it is impossible to resolve the problem without us, the basic party – Artsakh,” the German radio station quoted President of the Republic of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan as saying.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian told the German radio station that there are not differences in the stances of Armenia and Artsakh. It is impossible to solve Artsakh’s problem without Artsakh, which is the most important party to the conflict. Armenia just tries to assist in the conflict resolution.

“We cannot make unilateral concessions. The conflict may be solved only based on mutual compromises. The basic topic of the conflict is Artsakh’s status. As soon as the parties to the conflict come to an agreement with respect to Artsakh’s status, there will be an opportunity to solve the other matters related to the conflict.”

Authors of the program also referred to the Armenian Genocide, reiterating that 1.5mln Armenians were killed in the Ottoman Empire in 1915.
