ALMA to open new exhibit of Armenian and Caucasian rugs

On March 27, Armenian Library and Museum of America (ALMA) will open a new exhibit of Armenian and Caucasian rugs donated to ALMA by local merchant and collector Kasper Pilibosian.

The exhibit is possible through the generosity of the New England Rug Society, which funded ALMA's two interns, Rebecca Schaffer of Tufts University and Caroline Ly from Paris, France who assisted in preparing the rugs for exhibition with ALMA's textile staff, ALMA reported.

The exhibit, "Caucasian Rugs from the Pilibosian Collection" will showcase 25 rugs in the 1st floor gallery. The new rug exhibit will replace the art exhibit "The Doctor is Out: The Art of Jack Kevorkian" which closed on Sunday, February 20, 2011.
