On March 7, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will pay a visit to Iran.

Spokesperson for the Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan Abbas Iskenderi said that Mammadyarov is scheduled to meet with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi, as well as Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, 1news.az reported.

On February 9, a rally was organized in front of the Iranian embassy in Baku to protest “Iran’s interference into Azerbaijan’s internal affairs.” The demonstrators were shouting “Down with Iran, down with Armenia” and “Shame to Ahmadinejad.”
